History

The vision was given to our pastor, Bishop Langston McCarther more than ten years ago as he heard the Word from God, he moved by FAITH. He was led to the site where the church presently sits 4880 Burnett Drive. He purchased the land; he had the design drawn up. He proceeded by faith to bring the vision that God had given him to a reality. Ground broke and constructions began in 1992. Bishop McCarther is a man of faith, like Noah he had only his family when he started out, at the dedication service of the new sanctuary he had no members, however, one did join during that service. Bishop stated that his goal is to help anyone who needs help, boy, girl, woman or man, he wants to prepare men and women to be ready to meet the coming savior. February 1993 we dedicated our sanctuary to the Lord. To God be the Glory for all that he has done. Three years later the Lord blessed us to pay Living Word of God Church off in full. As we continue to move by FAITH God has continued to bless the church spiritually and naturally. The membership has grown and we are growing through the WORD of God. The church purchased land adjacent to the church and bought a new 2001 van and paid cash. We also purchased new pews and put down new carpet. Bishop McCarther is a man that walks by faith, he always tell us God will provide, God will meet our needs. He tells us to be faithful and obedient, pay our tithes and offering and that’s all that God requires. He told us he doesn’t like selling, if you sell anything do not sell it in the church name, because God said in his Word he will supply our needs. Bishop McCarther told us one day I see Living Word expanding. He instructed us to be faithful and obedient to the Word and God would do the rest. In one of our business meeting last year Bishop told us that we hope to move toward a new sanctuary in the year of 2004. However, during the year of 2003 God open up a window of opportunity that would save the church some money, Bishop McCarther consulted the Lord, acknowledged him and moved by FAITH. Plans were drawn for new sanctuary that will sit adjacent to the church, which will seat approximately 450, class rooms, fellowship hall, pastor office, secretarial office and more. God is good and God has been good to us. To God be the Glory for all that he has done.
